About Me

Margarita Vinnikov

      Assistant Professor at NJIT

Hello and welcome to my online home. I am Dr. Margarita Vinnikov and I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). Previously, I have served as a Human Factors Research Officer at the National Research Council Canada.

I graduated from York University, Toronto in 2015. I specialized in virtual reality and immersive displays, including flight and driving simulations as well as psychophysical research of visual and audio perception. My dissertation topic was gaze-contingent multi-sensory immersive environments. As a result, I did a lot of body and gaze tracking in real-time. I also worked in the Virtual Reality and Perception Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Robert S. Allison.

In 2009 I have completed M.Sc. in Computer Science. My thesis dealt with gaze-contingent real-time simulations of impaired vision.

In 2006 I have completed with Honours B.Sc. Specialized in Computer Science and B.Ed. Intermediate/Senior with Computer Science and Mathematics as teachables.
